Train Wreck - Whistler
The train wreck was so pretty with the bright colours of the graffiti against the greenery.
This train crashed in 1956, the train was behind schedule and decided to gain back some time by speeding. The train wreckage is actually not very close to the tracks as after the crash happened a company was hired to pull them away from the tracks and they ended up in the woods where they are today.
Now they have some jumps and such for people to take their bikes off of and some world famous graffiti artist have brought some colour to the rusty metal.

Niagara Trestle - Goldstream Park
So technically this is not abandoned. It is listed as an active railway.
The tracks have not been used in years but that does not mean they couldn't start again at any time. This is not a walkway and does not have any safety handrails, so if you do go on it be aware I warned you it was still "active".
But it is super pretty up there! It was tad bit of a walk to let there and it was not a flat walk either. The view was worth it! I also heard they filmed part of the new Godzilla here!!

Abandoned Cabin - Round Island
Ok I promise to get better at taking more pictures.
Round Island. There is a cute little cabin on there. I just recently found out that it is privately owned land and is for sale! So keep off!
There was a lot of garbage and old bedding everywhere, it was sad to see people don't respect nature.
But it was a nice little kayak over to it. The island was a nice size so you can kayak all the way around it. There was even a seal that was following me.

Mining Machinery - Quadra Island
You probably already know this but Vancouver Island and some of its surrounding island have a rich mining history. Quadra Island included.
I couple of years ago I was on Quadra Island doing some exploring, looking for mine shafts to be exact.
We did happen to find a mine shaft near on of the parks on the island. It was grated for everyone's safety as it was a vertical shaft and the bottom was filled with water, it was quite the drop!
Around the area was also some old machinery and pulleys. These is one of the pictures, unfortunately I couldn't find the picture of the shaft itself on my phone.

Abandoned Random Building - Kamloops
I was in a Kamloops and wanted to go the abandoned insane asylum sooooo bad!!! But they don't like people going there. They have turned part of it in to an escape room I heard which would be awesome!! I will have to go back there for that!
But instead of some cool asylum picture you can look at these of a building I found near the river. They might even have just been abandoned bathrooms...

Cave - Devil's Bath, North Vancouver Island
This is one of my favorite stories to tell!!!
Me and my friends were north island looking for a mine. We had searched what felt like all day! I was so upset I just wanted to go underground! One of my friends said we should check out Devil's Bath since we are so close.
We got there looked around , oo'd and aaa'd at the bath. We found a path that took us down towards the river. I was a tad pouting and said, "I just want to go underground already!" My friend pointed to a crack in the rock and said then sit in there. I did and pouted for a bit. Well I was sitting there swinging my feet in the crack I noticed that my feet didn't touch the ground and that I couldn't really see the bottom of the sloping rock I was on. I slid my body down a touch and tried to find the bottom, still nothing. I slid down more and was now just holding on with my finger tips to the rock I was sitting on. I felt like maybe I was touching the bottom, so I just let go! I slid down the rock a couple feet and found bottom. I was not super smart about it and only had a set of string lights with me.
I turned them on and looked around, I was in a sweet cave! I ran on the clay for a few feet and stopped to go back to tell my friends. I got back and yelled up the rock for someone to come and look. One of my friends found me and ran to get everyone else. Pretty soon all 7 of us are in this cave! We walked along follow a small creek that was in there. We followed it to the little lake at the end. Everything was clay in the cave, we were slipping and sliding all over the place! We could see a tunnel on the other side of the lake and wanted to cross it but there was a large wall of clay that stopped us from getting the by crossing the creek. I tried to kick my feet into the wall to get a hold but I just slid down.
My friend was going to swim across, but we wanted to find out how deep it was first. We tied a waterproof flashlight on my 25 foot long string lights and lowered it into the lake. It was deep! We didn't find the bottom.
And the light showed us some deceit sized fish down there. No one wanted to swim after that lol.
After we looked around we all helped each other climb out. As you can see it was a tad muddy down there.
